Babla   NEW
Disco Sensation (Polydor, India, 1980)
Including some of the best tunes by Babla at that time : "Aye Mere Dil Kahin Aur Chal", "Man Dole Mera Tan Dole", "Indian Aartis", "Soniye Tera Chahe Jo Bhi Hona" and "Babla Orchestra Title Music". Killer electro world / digital disco album from India.
LP, VG+/Ex-, 80 €
Ajit Varman   NEW
Vijeta (CBS, India, 1982)
Wow ! I had troubles finding this magnificent Indian soundtrack. Ajit Varman only composed half a dozen scores, did not sell too much, and now he is still not well know, even among Bollywood collectors. What makes this one so interesting is that the whole B-side is devoted to background music, which is quite unusual for an Indian record. Eight instrumental tracks ranging from incidental jazz to weird Asian groove. So hard to find ! And in excellent condition !

Babla   NEW
Instrumental Hits (Philips, India, 1977)
Wow ! I first found this album during my second trip to India, more than 16 years ago, and have been stunned by the funkiness of Kalyanji & Anandji's young brother Babla. I have put the tune "Babla's Theme" on a comp in 2002 ("The Urge") because it had a James Brown / JB's feel, something that reminded "Hot Pants Road"... The rest of te LP is solid too, and it's only instrumental. Ultra hard to find, especially in good shape.

Bappi Lahiri   NEW
Baadal (CBS, India, 1984)
Wow ! Always a big demand on this Bollywood soundtrack ! Bappi Lahiri lifting Herbie Hancock's "Rock It" on "Mere Jaisi Mehbooba" (sung by a powerful Sharon Prabhakar). Killer Indian electro funk. Very good condition.
LP, VG+/Ex-, 80 €
Bappi Lahiri   NEW
Kasam paida karnewale ki (EMI , India, 1984)
One of Bollywood funk classics ! And maybe the best electro funk effort by Bappi Lahiri. The title track is just devastating ! It also includes two Hindi versions of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” with electro breaks. Very hot on the dancefloor ! Also on this LP the mover "Dance Dance" and a fantastic track called “Come Closer” sung in Hindi and English : funky bass, smooth electric piano lines, sitar, wah wah, simply excellent. Don’t miss this crazy thing from Asia.
LP, VG(+)/VG+, 70 €
Bappi Lahiri   NEW
Maut ka saya (EMI, India, 1982)
Killer Indian funk score for an obscure horror Bollywood movie ! Crazy electro tune "Aafat" -sounds like an unknown Moodymann track right ?-, groovy intro with wah wah on "Tum phans gaye", dope funk instrumental with fem laughs on "Music", Hindi pop with funky parts on "Yeh samundar" and jazz pop with vibraphone on "Zulfon tale". Dope dope dope !
LP, VG/Ex-, 80 €
Kalyanji Anandji   NEW
Khoon ka rishta (EMI, India, 1981)
This background music track called "Music" is one of my favourite Bollywood numbers ! Crazy instrumental groove, sensual and hypnotic, with organ, mad synth, electronics and steel band. Killer breaks and samples !
LP, VG/Ex, 60 €
Bappi Lahiri   NEW
Pataal bhairavi (EMI , India)
Including the devastating "Chumma chumma", a real Bollywood funk storm. Vocals by Salma Agha. A great Bappi number ! Also on this album, a couple of pretty nice tracks with Indian beats.
LP, Ex-/Ex, 75 €
Kalyanji Anandji & Babla   NEW
Qurbani (Dialogue Album) (Polydor, India, 1980)
Wow ! Don't look any further ! This is it ! I was looking for this record for years… And to be honest I first thought it did not exist. This is the background music from the funkiest Bollywood movie. Not the tracks that are on the "Qurbani" soundtrack, nor on the "Music from Qurbani" album (which is just analbum featuring the instrumental version of the songs). NO ! This is a double LP featuring the funky music you can hear while Feroz Khan and Zeenat Aman are on screen. Killer grooves and samples all the way ! And terribly rare. Notice that discs and cover are in very good shape.
LP, VG+/VG+, 90 €
Kalyanji Anandji   NEW
Bombay 405 Miles (Polydor, India, 1980)
A classic Bollywood funk score. Includes the killer "Na na na, yeh kya karne lage ho", heavy weight groove.
LP, Ex-/Ex, 70 €
Rajesh Roshan   NEW
Telephone (T Series, India, 1985)
Wow ! Includes "Hello Darling", a devastating and sensual electroid Bollywood funk tune, sung by Annette. Plus a couple of electroid things to be sampled here and there. Still unknown to many collectors.
LP, VG/VG+, 70 €
Rajesh Roshan   NEW
Sannata (EMI, India, 1980)
One of the only Bollywood horror movies ! Includes "Superman Superman". Dope !
LP, Ex/Ex, 60 €
Bappi Lahiri   NEW
Jyoti (EMI, India, 1981)
Back in stock ! "Thoda resham lagta hai" of course, sung by Lata Mangeshkar, once sampled for Truth Hurts' "Addictive" (produced by Dr Dre). Killa beats !
LP, VG+/Ex, 60 €
Annu Malik   NEW
Mangal Pandey (Super Hits, India, 1982)
This time it’s not RD Burman, nor Kalyanji nor Bappi Lahiri…but Annu Malik ! This composer is not very well known because he has not written as many soundtracks as the three others…but his material is interesting. “No Parking No Parking” has two versions, one with female vocals by Sharon Prabhakar, and one instrumental (offered here as a soundclip). Groovy bass, afro percussion, wah wah guitar, heavy beat, kind of exotic house, isn’t it ? And a surprising funky steel band part before the chorus… Really amazing, and in superb condition !
LP, VG+/Ex-, 60 €
Kalyanji Anandji   NEW
Ye rishta ka tootay (Polydor, India, 1981)
Another obscure Bollywood record by funky brothers Kalyanji and Anandji, probably accompanied with the famous “Background music man” Babla. Dope electroid funk with breaks on “Main khubsoorat hoon”. Not to be missed !
LP, Ex-/VG+, 40 €
