Wow ! I was totally stunned when I first heard this album years ago. Fabulous exotica jazz from Indonesia / Malaysia with light Java percussions, bamboo flute and a beautiful melody. Remember, Marjono played on the famous Tony Scott’s album “Djanger Bali”. It sounds a bit like the early Mulatu of Ethiopia, or the Indian composer Ravi… Very delicate, notably on the track “Es lilin”. And “Selalu disampingmu” has a kind of beaty intro. Malaysian issue, coming with a lesser known cover.
