It seems to be recorded in Brazil but there is no information about the group, and it could be a fake Brazilian record, as it was the trend in the early 70’s in Europe (Brazil Selection, Brazukas or Brasil Tropical Sound are good examples). Lots of samba and choro with splendid vocals, such as “Maracatu imperial”, “Desacato”, and “Festa para um rei negro”, a good instrumental with crescendo called “Batucada berimbau” and the monster percussion track “Batucada tropical”. To me the best tune here is “E Nena”, a beautiful vocal track that will you and your friends on the dancefloor. Most of the tunes are original compositions by Prates, and there are only two or three cover versions. Really interesting !
